News Dreamgirls' Devine Joins Cast of "Legally Mad" Pilot Loretta Devine, who created the role of Lorrell Robinson in the original Broadway production of Dreamgirls, will play an attorney on the new David E. Kelley series "Legally Mad."

Variety reports that Devine's character, Jeanette, will constantly be "on the verge of a nervous breakdown." The WBTV-produced pilot also stars Charity Wakefield, Hugh Bonneville and the previously announced Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth. The series, according to the industry paper, "centers on Brady Hamm (Charity Wakefield), a twentysomething woman who takes a job at a law firm run by her father (Hugh Bonneville)."

Loretta Devine has also been seen on Broadway in Hair, A Broadway Musical, Comin' Uptown and Big Deal. Among her more recent screen credits are "Eli Stone," "Boston Public," "Boston Legal" and "Ally McBeal."
