The Drowsy Chaperone was the big winner at the 2006 Ovation Awards with five wins, including awards for stars Sutton Foster and Bob Martin. Laurie Metcalf, Harriet Harris and Jay Johnson were also among those honored.
The Ovation Awards, which are presented by the L.A. Stage Alliance, are a peer-judged award established in 1989 that honor "artistic excellence of L.A.'s theatres and theatre artists, and their continuing contribution to the vibrant cultural scene."
Composer Jerry Herman received a Career Achievement honor. California Institute of the Arts Community Arts Partnership (CAP) received the Community Outreach Award.
