News Drowsy's Davi to Make Birdland Debut in May Mara Davi, who will star in the title role of the City Center Encores! production of No, No Nanette, will make her solo Birdland debut in May.

Davi is scheduled to play the famed jazz venue May 19 at 7 PM. She will be accompanied by musical director Adam Waite. The singing actress, according to press notes, "will share the songs that fuel her fantasy life, make her heart soar and her toes tap." Cabaretgoers can expect to hear tunes from the new musical Dancing in the Dark as well as a mix of jazz, musical theatre and contemporary music.

Mara Davi originated the role of Maggie in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line and later starred as Janet van de Graaff in the Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone. She was recently seen in the new musical Dancing in the Dark and will star in the upcoming Encores! staging of No, No Nanette.
