News Dukakis, Cerveris and Kron to Be Part of Smith's "Letters to a Young Artist" Benefit A one-night-only reading of Anna Deavere Smith's new book, "Letters to a Young Artist," will be presented Sept. 25 at the Daryl Roth Theatre.

Hosted by Daryl Roth and Martin Sheen, the evening will feature the talents of Smith, Eve Ensler, Bill T. Jones, Olympia Dukakis, Michael Cerveris and Lisa Kron. Show time is 7 PM. The performances, which will be followed by a reception, will benefit WET, which "produces works which challenge female stereotypes and advocate for equality." Proceeds will help mount a production of Anna Ziegler's play BFF at the DR2 Theater, where WET is a Theatre-in-Residence.

Anna Deavere Smith is a writer and actress who has weaved history, interviews and impersonation in such gripping one-person shows as Fires in the Mirror and Twilight: Los Angeles. She is the recipient of two Obie Awards and two Tony nominations as well as a MacArthur Fellowship. On screen she has been seen in "Philadelphia," "An American President," "The Human Stain," "Rent," "The Practice," "Presidio Med" and "The West Wing."

The Daryl Roth Theatre is located at 101 East 15th Street. Tickets, priced $115, are available by visiting www.wetweb.org.
