News Dunn, Laird, Overett, Sanders, Stevens and Summerford Cast in York's In Transit Casting has been announced for the York Theatre Company's upcoming presentation of In Transit.

The a cappella musical is part of the York's NEW2NY concert series, which presents staged concerts of musicals making their New York debuts. Performance dates are Aug. 8-10. The series will also include The Lady in Penthouse B (July 25-27).

Directed by Joe Calarco, the cast will feature Ryan Thomas Dunn as Chris, Hannah Laird as Ali, beat-boxer Adam Matta as Boxman, Adam Overett as Trent, Ann Sanders as Regina, Graham Stevens as Nate and Denise Summerford as Jane. W. Brent Sawyer is the music director.

In Transit was penned by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russell M. Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth with additional material by Greg Christopher and Karla Momberger. The musical, according to press notes, is described as such "From below the city's streets springs this brand new musical, inspired by the rhythms and sounds of life on the subway. There's not an instrument in sight as a colorful array of young people find their way in NYC. Mixing reggae, pop, soul, beat box and more, In Transit is unlike anything you've ever seen—or heard—on stage before."

All NEW2NY shows will be presented at the Theatre at Saint Peters, and each show will play five performances: Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2:30 and 8 PM, and Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 PM. Discussions will follow the matinee performances.

In other York casting news, Stephen Bienskie has joined the cast of The Lady in Penthouse B, which will feature the previously announced Nancy Dussault as well as Michael Cone (La Bohème, Rags and Brigadoon), Gordon Stanley (Cabaret, Ragtime and Beauty and the Beast), JD Webster (Wonderful Town, Ragtime and Show Boat) and Sally Wilfert (Assassins). The Theatre at Saint Peters is located at 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue. Tickets, priced $35, are available by visiting www.yorktheatre.org or by calling (212) 935-5820.
