News Durang and Wellman's Holiday Poem-Inspired Shorts Will Fill 'Twas The Night Before Christopher Durang, Len Jenkin, Roger Rosenblatt, Elizabeth Swados and Mac Wellman have each penned ten-minute works for the upcoming world premiere of 'Twas The Night Before.

The Flea Theater and The Chelsea Art Museum, both in Manhattan, will present the new works that are scheduled to play at the downtown Manhattan venue Dec. 13-30. 'Twas The Night Before will debut prior to the Flea run at the museum with special gala performances Dec. 4 and Dec. 9.

The Flea group commission had the writers create short works with Clement Clark Moore's famous holiday poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" as inspiration.

Durang's Not a Creature was Stirring, Jenkin's Christmas Song, Rosenblatt's Away in the Manger, Swados' Holiday Movies and Wellman's Before The Before and Before That comprise the evening, which will feature a cast of Flea's resident company, The Bats.

Jenkin and Swados are slated to stage their own pieces alongside directors Kip Fagan (on the Durang), Jason Podplesky (Rosenblatt) and Amanda Wright (Wellman).

The design team for 'Twas the Night Before features Kyle Chepulis (sets and lights) with Sarah Beers and Heather Dunbar (costumes).  Tickets to 'Twas the Night Before at The Flea Theater, 41 White Street (between Broadway & Church Streets) are available by calling (212) 352-3101. The Chelsea Art Museum performances can be obtained by calling (212) 226-0051 ext. 101. For more information, visit The Flea online at www.theflea.org.
