A co-production with the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Beyond Therapy will play Bay Street through July 27. The comedy was previously staged at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in June.
Under the direction of Alex Timbers, Beyond Therapy also features Darren Goldstein (Gutenberg! The Musical!), "SNL" player Darrell Hammond, Matt McGrath (Cabaret, "Boys Don't Cry") and Bryce Pinkham (A Woman of No Importance). (Goldstein replaces the previously announced Tom Cavanagh [Urinetown, "Ed"], who withdrew from the production due to scheduling conflicts.)
Durang's comedy concerns "a chance meeting through a personal ad [that] provides two New Yorkers with a multitude of topics for their therapy sessions. The lines between doctor and patient, however, are hilariously blurred," according to press notes.
The creative team includes set designer Walt Spangler, costume designer Emily Rebholz, lighting designer Jeff Croiter and sound designer Fitz Patton.
