News Dutch Chicago Delayed to May 1999 The Dutch version of the Broadway hit musical Chicago, which was supposed to open November 29, 1998 at the Jaarbeurs Theatre in Utrecht, The Netherlands has been postponed until May 1999 because of unspecified problems with the theatre.

The Dutch version of the Broadway hit musical Chicago, which was supposed to open November 29, 1998 at the Jaarbeurs Theatre in Utrecht, The Netherlands has been postponed until May 1999 because of unspecified problems with the theatre. Previously on May 12, a press conference by producer Joop van den Ende Theaterprodukties, where the cast of the new Dutch production of the musical Chicago would have been announced, was cancelled, citing unnamed problems with the production. Earlier actress Simone Kleinsma pulled out of playing the part of Roxie Hart because of pregnancy.

The producers will make an official press statement available on May 20th.

The Dutch version of Chicago would have been directed by Scott Farris, with Ann Reinking recreating her Broadway choreography in the style of Bob Fosse.
