News Ebersole, Harris, Arnaz, Anderson and Newman Join Birdland Line-Up A host of theatre favorites will be part of the weekly Broadway at Birdland series, which presents theatre performers and songwriters at the famed Manhattan jazz club.

The fall season, as previously announced, will kick off Sept. 3 and 4 with Tony Award winner Linda Lavin, who will offer "Songs and Confessions of a Former Waitress" at 7 PM.

Lavin, who is perhaps best known for her award-winning stint on TV's "Alice," will be backed by Billy Stritch on piano, Steve Doyle on bass and John Brown on drums. The singing actress, according to press notes, will recall "her roots in the theatre (originating Sondheim's 'The Boy From...' in The Mad Show) and her early cabaret trials and tribulations in some less-than-glamorous boites." Cabaretgoers can expect to hear tunes by the Gershwins, Maltby & Shire, Dave Frishberg and Trisha Yearwood.
