Two-time Tony nominee Johanna Day (Sweat, Proof) will star alongside Ed Asner in a two-week East Coast tour of Jeff Cohen's The Soap Myth. Day steps in for Emmy and Tony nominee Kate Burton, who has withdrawn from the production due to scheduling conflicts.

The string of Pam Berlin-helmed concert readings will launch January 22, 2018, in Miami.

Asner and Day will take on the roles of Holocaust survivors Milton Saltzman and Brenda Goodsen, respectively. Joining the two stage and screen veterans are Ned Eisenberg and Blair Baker.

The play, set over 50 years after World War II, explores the nature of survival and who has the right to write history—between those who live it, those who study it, and those who distort it. The tour serves as a tribute to International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27).

Cohen’s drama premiered Off-Broadway in 2012 in a Roundabout Theatre Company production featuring Greg Mullavey, Andi Potemkin, Dee Pelletier, and Donald Corren.
