News Eden Espinosa to Sing in Elena of Avalor The former Elphaba lends her voice to the animated series.

Eden Espinosa, perhaps most famous for taking over as Broadway’s Green Girl in Wicked, goes from not-so-wicked witch to fairy as she guest stars as Orizaba on Disney Channel’s Elena of Avalor.

The actor will be heard on the November 4 episode of the computer-animated television series.

Watch this video sneak peek of Espinosa in the episode:

Composer John Kavanaugh, a good friend of Espinosa, writes the music for the series, including the song “The Gift of Night” that she sings as Orizaba. She describes the song as a hip-hop meets salsa meets showtune number.

Espinosa made her Broadway debut as Maureen Johnson in Rent, before originating the title role in Brooklyn and then joining the company of Wicked.
