A married couple in real life, and then a married couple on TV's "L.A. Law," Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry will play one of theatredom's best known un-married twosomes -- Andrew Makepeace Ladd II and Melissa Gardner -- for a special benefit performance of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters at CA's Marin Theatre Company in Mill Valley, Feb. 11. The story of lifelong friends but non-lovers, Love Letters is told in epistolary fashion, that is, letters written by the characters read aloud by the performers.
Tucker and Eikenberry are officially nicknamed "The Tuckerberrys" because they work together so often. Back in January, they appeared in a Marin benefit of Emma's Child (the couple live in Mill Valley). They previously starred in Love Letters in San Jose, CA.
Other works by Gurney include The Cocktail Hour, The Middle Ages and Sylvia.
For tickets ($35-$25; $100 includes reception) and information on the Love Letters benefit for Marin Theatre Company, which takes place at Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael, call (415) 472-3500.
