Rattlestick continues its Evening Reading Series with the new work. Eisenberg (Scarcity, "Zombieland") directs and appears in the 7 PM reading. Bartha, to be seen on Broadway in Lend Me a Tenor and a star of the 2009 hit film "The Hangover," will appear in the cast with Kreisler (Our House, Psych, "Full Grown Men").
Eisenberg has also been seen in the films "The Squid and the Whale," "Adventureland," "The Village," "Roger Dodger" and "The Education of Charlie Banks."
The Ambassadors, according to Rattlestick, centers on "two sheltered young men [who] are forced to confront their ignorance when a young Filipino woman becomes their new roommate."
The Evening Reading Series previously presented Billy Finnegan's Baby Bump (Feb. 1), Louis Cancelmi's The Lie is to Our Benefit (Dec. 14, 2009), Kara Manning's Killing Swans (Oct. 10) and Steven Drukman's The Innocents (Oct. 6).
Rattlestick currently presents the world premiere of Craig Wright's Blind on its mainstage. Lucie Tiberghien directs Veanne Cox, Seth Numrich and Danielle Slavick in the new work (through March 21). Up next is Annie Baker's The Aliens (April 15-May 23).
The reading of The Ambassadors is free; reservations can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater is located at 224 Waverly Place in New York City. For more information, visit rattlestick.org.
