As previously reported, NYCO will offer concerts celebrating the music of Tony-winning West Side Story composer Leonard Bernstein (Nov. 6-7) and Academy Award and Tony-nominated Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz (April 21, 2011).

Lucky to Be Me: The Music of Leonard Bernstein will boast a lineup including Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Ebersole (Grey Gardens), Murphy (Passion), Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara (South Pacific), Tony winner Michael Cerveris (Sweeney Todd), Darius de Haas (Children of Eden) and Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty"). George Manahan will conduct.

The Bernstein concerts promise selections from Candide, Wonderful Town, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, On the Town, West Side Story and NYCO's production of A Quiet Place.

Paige (Sunset Boulevard, Evita) and Mitchell (Ragtime, Man of La Mancha) will join previously announced Tony-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked) and Tony nominee Raúl Esparza (Company) for Defying Gravity: The Music of Stephen Schwartz. Victor Garber will host the gala concert that will be conducted by Ryan McAdams.

As previously announced, NYCO will stage the New York premiere of Stephen Schwartz's opera Séance on a Wet Afternoon in April 2011.

In addition to the concert series, City Opera will present Late Night with LB on Oct 23. The evening promises "a rare recital of Bernstein’s most personal music in a cabaret setting."
