Elf Sets Holiday Return; Dual Casting Announced | Playbill

News Elf Sets Holiday Return; Dual Casting Announced The Broadway musical Elf, which was seen in a dual holiday tour last season, will return to the road this November. Casting for the Eastern and Western routes of the tour has been revealed.

The musical comedy based on the 2003 film of the same title has a score by Wedding Singer songwriters Matthew Sklar (music) and Chad Beguelin (lyrics) and a book by Tony Award winners Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone) and Thomas Meehan (Annie, Hairspray, The Producers). A cast album preserves the original Broadway production.

Directed by Sam Scalamoni and featuring choreography by Connor Gallagher, the non-AEA tours are presented by NETworks Presentations, LLC, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Unique Features. Both tours launch Nov. 7 and will continue through December.

The "Buddy Tour" will feature Daniel Patrick Smith as Buddy the Elf in a cast that also includes Daryn Harrell (Jovie), D. Scott Withers (Walter), Allison Mickelson (Emily), Audra Qualley (Deb), Travis Mitchell (Mr. Greenway), Mark Fishback (Santa) and Arthur L. Ross (Macy's Manager).

The ensemble includes Sissy Bell, Meghan Glogower, Shane Hurst, Ashtia Jewell, Jennie McGuinness, Elyse Niederee, PJ Palmer, Hillary Porter, Jonathan Ragsdale, Tory Ramirez, Shaun Repetto, Adrienne Storrs, Jordan Weagraff and David Wiens.

Eric Williams will star as Buddy the Elf in the "Jovie Tour," which will include Maggie Anderson (Jovie), Jesse Sharp (Walter), Lexie Dorsett (Emily), Tyler Altomari and Harper Brady (Michael), Whitney Hayes (Deb), Joel Stigliano (Mr. Greenway), Ken Clement (Santa) and Jerrial Young (Macy's Manager). The ensemble features Mara Gabrielle, Timothy Grady, Billy D. Hart, Amanda Grace Holt, Jacob January, Erin Kei, Marie Lemon, Ryan Patrick Lingle, Tyler John Logan, Brian Padgett, Nicole Pavone, Maria Cristina Slye and Mia Weinberger.

Here's how it's billed: "Elf is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner Elf."
