News Elizabeth Stanley, Darren Ritchie, Annie Golden, Curtis Holbrook, Alix Korey Set for Starlight's Xanadu Elizabeth Stanley, who played Clio/Kira in the national tour of Xanadu, will repeat her performance in those roles in the Starlight Theatre Stage production of the musical, which plays the Kansas City, MO, venue Aug. 15-21.

Dan Knechtges will direct and choreograph a cast that also includes Darren Ritchie as Sonny Malone, Annie Golden as Calliope/Aphrodite, Curtis Holbrook as Thalia/Siren/'80s Singer/Cyclops, Patti Murin as Euterpe/Siren/'40s Singer/Thetis, Kenita R. Miller as Erato/Siren/'40s Singer/Hera, Alix Korey as Melpomene/Medusa, Julius Thomas III as Terpsicore/Siren/Tubes Singer/Hermes/Centaur, Brett Stang as the Featured Skater and Kip Niven as Danny Maguire/Zeus.

The production will also feature 17 Kansas City teens from 12 area high schools as members of Starlight’s Blue Star All-Star Chorus.

Based on the Universal Pictures film (screenplay by Richard Danus and Marc Rubel), Xanadu features a book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar.

"It’s 1980 on Venice Beach," according to previous press notes. "A beautiful Greek muse comes to earth to help a young handsome, muscle-bound, sweet-tempered but not so bright artist, Sonny Malone realize his dream to open a roller disco." This parody of the Olivia Newton-John flop cult movie includes "Suddenly," "Strange Magic," "Evil Woman," "Don't Walk Away" and "I'm Alive."
