News Elton John Will Perform Tribute to Liberace at 2013 Emmy Awards Tony and Academy Award-winning musician Elton John will perform a tribute to Liberace, the subject of Steven Soderbergh's Emmy Award-nominated film "Behind The Candelabra," at The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will air live Sept. 22 at 8 PM ET on CBS from the NOKIA Theater L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

The film's nominees, Michael Douglas — who played Liberace — and co-star Matt Damon, are among the presenters for the ceremony, which will be hosted by Broadway star and Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris.

Elton John is a five-time Grammy Award winner and Academy Award winner for "The Lion King." He has written the scores to the Broadway musicals Billy Elliot, The Lion King, Aida (Tony Award) and Lestat. John's numerous albums include "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Tumbleweed Connection," "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" and his self-titled 1970 album.
