The concert at the downtown venue features an evening of song and spoken word led by playwright-performer Daniel Beaty. Show time is 7:30 PM. Beaty is the author of Resurrection and Emergence-See!; the latter won the 2007 Obie Award for Outstanding Writing and Performance.
The evening benefits the Ossie Davis Endowment, which provides scholarships to high school students to pursue careers in social activism.
