News Emily Skinner to Make NY Directorial Debut with Broadway Musicals of 1955; Casting Announced, Too Emily Skinner, who earned a Tony nomination for her performance in Side Show, will make her New York directorial debut with the upcoming "Broadway By the Year" concert.

Skinner will direct The Broadway Musicals of 1955, set for May 2 at New York's Town Hall. The evening, created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel, will feature the talents of Dee Hoty, Patti Cohenour, Liz Larsen, Sal Viviano, Justin Bohon, Raymond Jaramillo McLeod, Connie Pachl and Shannon Lewis. Concertgoers can expect to hear tunes from such musicals as Damn Yankees, Silk Stockings, Plain & Fancy and Ankles Aweigh. In a statement, host Siegel said, "Emily is a veteran of the series. She has been in three of them and understands what these shows are all about. Creative and delightful to work with, I'm sure she'll bring something special to the Town Hall stage."

Emily Skinner received a joint Tony Award nomination — with co-star Alice Ripley — for her performance in Side Show. Skinner's other Broadway credits include Jekyll & Hyde, James Joyce's The Dead, The Full Monty and Dinner at Eight. She was also recently part of the cast of the Disney musical On the Record.

Town Hall is located in Manhattan at 123 West 43rd Street. Tickets, priced $40 and $45, are available by calling the theatre's box office at (212) 840 2824 or TicketMaster at (212) 307-4100.
