Hayes, a Tony Award nominee for the 2010 Broadway revival of Promises, Promises, has signed on for a multi-episode stint as Terrence Falls, a television and film actor who is making his Broadway debut in a musical adaptation of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses." He becomes a thorn in the side of several "Smash" characters, including Ivy.
The second season of "Smash" will also welcome new faces including Tony Award nominee Daniel Sunjata (Take Me Out), Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson ("Dreamgirls"), Jeremy Jordan (Newsies), Krysta Rodriguez (The Addams Family) and Andy Mientus (Carrie).
Josh Safran ("Gossip Girl") is the show-runner for the second season of "Smash" which will debut in early 2013.
"Smash," the scripted musical drama series about the makers of a new Broadway musical, will again star Emmy Award winner Debra Messing ("Will & Grace"), Oscar winner Anjelica Huston ("Prizzi's Honor"), Jack Davenport ("Pirates of the Caribbean" films), Tony winner Christian Borle (Legally Blonde the Musical, Peter and the Starcatcher), Katharine McPhee ("American Idol") and Megan Hilty (9 to 5: The Musical).
