The Post reports that Erin Craig, of La Vie Productions, who holds the rights to the 1978 Off-Broadway musical, is meeting with Tony-winning director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Wonderful Town) regarding future plans for I'm Getting My Act Together, which could potentially include a Broadway premiere. Marshall directed and choreographed the recent production.

Akin to the Broadway Encores! series, the newly-launched Encores! Off-Center series celebrates musicals from Off-Broadway. I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road was presented July 24-27. Jeanine Tesori is the Encores! Off-Center artistic director.

Renee Elise Goldsberry starred as Heather in a cast that also featured Jason Rabinowitz (Jake), Christina Sajous (Alice), Jennifer Sanchez (Cheryl) and Frederick Weller (Joe). Chris Fenwick musical directed the rock musical.

I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road, with book and lyrics by Gretchen Cryer and music by Nancy Ford, "created a sensation when it premiered in the late 1970s," according to press notes. "In it, a former pop star ditches the romantic songs of her past and attempts a comeback by performing personal songs that reflect women’s changing roles and attitudes. The show stoked the fires of feminism, not only with its joyous rock score proclaiming empowerment for women, but because of its female songwriting team—a rarity in musical theater then and now."
