News Engquist and Lebeaux Set for Free Songbook Concert Nov. 24 The acclaimed Songbook series — produced, directed and hosted by John F. Znidarsic — will continue Nov. 24 with an evening titled Saloon Songs.

Richard Engquist, the lyricist of Kuni-Leml, Little Ham, Elizabeth and Essex and Abie's Island Rose, will offer his first Manhattan cabaret performance in over 40 years. He will be accompanied by pianist Annie Lebeaux, who will also contribute vocals. Show time for the free concert is 6 PM. Expect songs penned by Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, Frank Loesser and Hoagy Carmichael, among others. Title will include "One for My Baby," "Sophisticated Lady," "Cocktails for Two" and "Something Cool."

Now in its 18th season, the Songbook series is held at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Bruno Walter Auditorium, which is located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue, south of 65th Street.
