News Erin Dilly and Randy Redd Are The Cousins Grimm for NYMF Broadway's Erin Dilly and Randy Redd will headline The Cousins Grimm for the New York Musical Theater Festival's Developmental Series.

Featuring a book by Ted Sod, music by Dan Martin and lyrics written by Michael Biello, The Cousins Grimm takes on the classic Grimm fairy tales with a decidedly gay twist. The musical was a finalist in the Stages 2007 competition in Chicago and was part of the 2006 Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center Music Theatre Conference. The NYMF production marks the New York premiere of The Cousins Grimm.

Dilly and Redd portray "Jackie and Leon, descendants of the Brothers Grimm who are adapting their ancestors' beloved stories and adding a queer sensibility to them," according to press materials. "The Cousins Grimm learn quite a bit about themselves and their alter egos in the process; including revelations that provide a mysterious and magical ending to their work-in-progress."

Joining Dilly and Redd for the developmental reading will be Rachel Coloff, Cole Burden, Jillian Louis, Austin Murphy and Jana Robbins. Michael Bush (Totally Based On a True Story, Stormy Weather) directs The Cousins Grimm with musical direction by Jeff Caldwell.

Erin Dilly was most recently seen on Broadway in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang portraying Truly Scrumptious; she was also a part of the Broadway revivals of The Boys from Syracuse, Into the Woods and Follies.

Randy Redd's Broadway credits include last season's Ring of Fire as well as Parade and the American premiere of By Jeeves. Redd was also instrumental in developing a production of the musical Once on This Island, featuring the youth of New Orleans, following hurricane Katrina. That work was documented for the upcoming film "After the Storm." The Cousins Grimm will take place Sept. 24 at 4:30 PM and 8 PM at the 45th Street Theatre, located in Manhattan at 354 West 45th Street. Tickets are available by calling (212) 352-3101 or by visiting www.nymf.org.
