Progressive Theatre Workshop presents the work, which is written and directed by John J. Caswell, Jr. and uses lyrics penned by the Westboro Baptist Church. Performances will run Oct. 16-20.

Markey (Our Hit Parade) stars as Shirley Phelps-Roper in a cast that also includes Guinn (Hair), Enright (Williamsburg! The Musical) and Marquardt (Walmartopia!).

Sean Roschman choreographs with musical direction by Mark Fifer.

Here's how it's billed: "God Hates This Show is a holy ghost filled cabaret/arena rock show set in a sadistic flame filled haunted house/lounge located in the heart of Hell's Magnificent Mile where the fashion is flawless, the heat is pretty hot, and the demons can't wait to show you a good time. And by show you a good time, we mean rip you apart and put you back together again. Gnash your teeth, ladies and gentlemen. It's time to get dead, get drunk, and get damned... Our show imagines Shirley Phelps-Roper (Markey) as recently deceased, banished to Hell, and forced for all eternity to sing her favorite earthly songs. She is accompanied by a live band and an ensemble of demonic back up singers."

Musical arrangements by Brooke Fox and Kurt Gellersted, with lighting design by Wolfram Ott and scenic and prop design by Progressive Theatre Workshop.
