Recently seen in a limited run at not-for-profit ATC Stage 2, the production starring F. Murray Abraham and Mark Linn-Baker, among others — is now at Off-Broadway's The Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street.

Tony Award nominee Johanna Day and Steppenwolf Theatre Company member Tim Hopper have joined the cast, replacing Elizabeth Marvel and Jonathan Cake, who have other gigs. Day and Hopper join original company members Abraham (an Academy Award winner for "Amadeus"), Linn-Baker (A Year With Frog and Toad, TV's "Perfect Strangers"), J.R. Horne, Jordan Lage, Mary McCann, Del Pentecost and Joey Slotnick.

Opening is April 2. The Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street are located at 45 Bleecker between Lafayette and Mott Streets.

Directed by Atlantic artistic director Neil Pepe, Almost an Evening sold out before previews began at Atlantic Stage 2 on Jan. 9, opened Jan. 22 and played a limited engagement through Feb. 10. According to Atlantic, in Almost an Evening, "three short plays unsuccessfully tackle important questions. In Waiting, someone waits somewhere for quite some time. In Four Benches, a voyage to self-discovery takes a British intelligence agent to steam baths in New York and Texas, and to park benches in the U.S. and U.K. In Debate, cosmic questions are taken up. Not much is learned."

Coen made his Off-Broadway debut as a playwright with this production of short plays. He has made 13 movies with his brother Joel, including the Academy Award-winning films "No Country for Old Men" (for which he shared direction and adapted screenplay Oscars) and "Fargo" (for which he shared an original screenplay Oscar); "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"; "Raising Arizona"; "Barton Fink"; "The Hudsucker Proxy" and "The Big Lebowski."

Day recently starred in the Off-Broadway production of Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry. She was nominated for a Tony Award for Proof on Broadway.

Hopper has appeared on Broadway in the revival of Present Laughter, won an Obie Award for More Stately Mansions Off-Broadway, and starred on the HBO series "Oz."

The creative team for Almost an Evening features scenic design by Riccardo Hernandez, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by Don Holder and sound design by Eric Shim and fight choreography by J. David Brimmer.

The transfer is produced by Atlantic Theater Company, Art Meets Commerce and Carole Shorenstein Hays.

Almost an Evening plays Tuesday through Saturday at 8 PM, with Saturday matinees at 2 PM and Sunday performances at 3 and 7 PM.

Ticket prices range $20-$50 and will be available by calling Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or (800) 545-2559, online at and or in person at The Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street.
