News Eugene O'Neill Theater Center Will Break Ground on Historic Expansion The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center will break ground on an expansion of its Waterford, CT, campus Nov. 13, the largest in the Tony Award-winning company's 49-year history.

The expansion will include seven new dormitory cottages, providing living space for some 65 artists and faculty, as well as a new rehearsal hall and renovations to the Center's existing buildings, which will provide for additional production and rehearsal space.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center was founded in 1964 and is based in Waterford, CT. Programs at the Center include the Puppetry Conference, Playwrights Conference, Critics Institute, Music Theater Conference and the National Theater Institute. The Monte Cristo Cottage, O'Neill's childhood home, is also owned and operated by the group.
