News Eugene O'Neill's Exorcism Will Get Reading with Reed Birney, Will Rogers and More Exorcism, Eugene O'Neill's prequel to Long Day's Journey Into Night, will receive a staged reading as part of the 13th annual Eugene O'Neill Celebration Oct. 6 in New London, CT.

National Playwrights Conference artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg will direct the 10 AM reading on Oct. 6 that will feature Reed Birney, Jeremy Bobb, Jordan Gelber, John Jellison and Will Rogers.

Exorcism, according to the O'Neill, "details ongoing inner toils with self, with family, and with addiction – all prominent themes for the more famous work. O'Neill believed he'd destroyed all known copies of the work. 90 years later, a copy of the manuscript was unearthed."

The celebration begins on Friday at 8 PM with a film screening of "Long Day's Journey Into Night," starring Kevin Spacey and Jason Robards, at the Monte Cristo Cottage.

The reading and screening are free and open to the public.
