Comedian/singer Jamie deRoy will bring her MAC Award-winning variety show to Don't Tell Mama (West 46th Street in NYC) every Thursday night through October 31.
DeRoy, who host the nationally seen cable TV show, "Jamie deRoy & Friends," will share the spotlight with some of her Broadway and cabaret friends. On September 19, deRoy will be joined by singers Julie Wilson, KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar. Others included on the fall line-up are, The Broadway Kids, The Amazing Christopher, Heather MacRae, Karen Mason, Billy Stritch, Melanie Vaughn, Kaye Ballard, Laurie Beechman and others.
DeRoy's film, television and theatre credits are fairly extensive. She began her stage career starring in the off-Broadway production of The Drunkard, with musical direction by Barry Manilow, with whom she later worked in night clubs. She has also appeared in Three Penny Opera with Rene Auber Jonois. DeRoy also produced the off-Broadway hit show The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged).
Portions of deRoy's Don't Tell Mama show will be taped for broadcast on her cable TV show "Jamie deRoy & Friends" which airs in New York on Thursdays at 3 p.m. On Channel 17. Check local listings for other areas.
