Stagefair, the one day event that gives folks a big peek at the theatre world, premieres this year on October 8, 1996 from 10 a.m. Through 4 p.m. in Convent Garden's New Connaught Rooms.

Participants will get a chance to sample some of the new offerings of the West End, mingle with theatre celebrities, enjoy back stage tours as well as attend a series of seminars focusing on the many different aspects of theatre.

A sample of some of the seminars to be conducted by some known theatre celebrities include: "Making It Happen": A primer for creating exciting theatre visits; "Acces": accommodating the disabled in London's Theatres; "Behind the Scenes": a designer's view; "Developing Young Audiences"; "From Page to Stage 1996": the pain and pleasure of producing a hit show; "The Role of the Critic" and many more.

By popular demand, "Window on the West End," a showcase of what's to come in the 1996-97 season, makes a return. "Windows" will be hosted by famed London theatre critic Sheridan Morley.
