The cast of Sweeney Todd, Estelle Parsons, Israel Horovitz, and more came out for The 7th Annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards June 20. The awards, presented annually, honor the best in commercial and not-for-profit Off-Broadway theatre in a variety of categories.
The Vineyard Theatre production of Indecent won for Best New Play; the Paula Vogel work transferred to Broadway earlier this year and received a Tony nomination for Best Play. Ernest Shackleton Loves Me was awarded Best New Musical. The show features a book by Joe DiPietro and music by Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda.
