News Exclusive: Broadway Vets Team Up for New Version of Joni Mitchell Favorite Jason Robert Brown created the new arrangement of the Joni Mitchell classic “Blue.”

Playbill.com has exclusive video of a new a cover of the Joni Mitchell classic “Blue,” which is arranged by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown.

The song features cellist Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf, who commissioned the arrangement, alongside Randy Landau on bass. On vocals is Broadway veteran Jessica Molaskey.

Dorman-Phaneuf played in the world premiere of Brown’s The Last Five Years, as well as The Bridges of Madison County. She currently plays in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof.

“Blue” is part of “Our Songs,” a collection of non-Broadway songs, sung by Broadway singers, and arranged by Broadway arrangers. "Blue" is the first song to be released in this series.
