News   EXCLUSIVE: Muny Season to Feature Elizabeth Stanley, Andrea Burns, Tony Yazbeck, Curtis Holbrook, Tom Hewitt Playbill.com has learned initial casting for the musicals that will comprise the 2011 summer season at the St. Louis Muny, the nation's oldest and largest outdoor theatre.

The new season will kick off June 20 with the Muny premiere of Legally Blonde, which runs through June 26. The cast of the musical, based on the film of the same name, will be led by Lauren Ashley Zakrin as Elle with Matt Hydzik as Warner, D.B. Bonds as Emmett, Lisa Howard as Paulette and Ken Land as Professor Callahan.

Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate will follow, playing June 27-July 3. Tom Hewitt, Lisa Vroman, Curtis Holbrook and Andrea Chamberlain will head the cast as, respectively, Fred, Lily, Bill and Lois. The gangsters will be played by Lee Roy Reams and Conrad John Schuck.

Singin' in the Rain, which will run July 18-24, will feature Tony Yazbeck as Don, Curtis Holbrook as Cosmo, Shannon M. O’Bryan as Kathy and Michele Ragusa as Lina.

Million Dollar Quartet's Elizabeth Stanley will play the ditzy, big-hearted Audrey in the Muny production of Little Shop of Horrors, July 25-31. Stanley will be joined by Rob McClure as Seymour and Clarke Thorell as the demented dentist Orin.

The cast of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Aug. 1-7) will be led by James Clow as Adam and Jenny Powers as Milly, and the cast of Bye Bye Birdie (Aug. 8-14) will be headed by Lara Teeter as Albert and Andrea Burns as Rose. Casting for The Little Mermaid, which runs July 6-14, will be announced shortly.

Season tickets are now on sale; single tickets go on sale June 4.

This season marks Paul Blake's last as executive producer of The Muny. Mike Isaacson will succeed Blake beginning with the 2012 season at the St. Louis theatre. Blake has served as executive producer of The Muny since 1990.

The theatre regularly attracts Broadway talent. Last season boasted performances by Tom Hewitt, Gary Beach, Curtis Holbrook, Ken Page and more.
