Bakery in Brooklyn, about two cousins who inherited their aunt’s bakery, stars Broadway actor Krysta Rodriguez and Aimee Teegarden. Watch an exclusive clip from the new film, which will hit select theatres January 20, above.
Directed by Gustavo Ron and featuring a screenplay by Ron and Francisco Zegers, the cast also includes Griffin Newman, Ernie Sabella, Blanca Suárez, Ward Horton, Letty Serra, Aitor Luna, Enrique Arce, Anthony Chisholm, Linda Lavin, Anthony Alessandro, Teodorina Bello, Robert C. Kirk, and Franklin Ojeda Smith.
Here how the film is billed: “Cousins Vivien and Chloe have just inherited their Aunt Isabelle’s bakery, a boulangerie that has been a cornerstone of the neighborhood for years. Chloe wants a new image and product, while Vivien wants to make sure nothing changes. Add to that the complications that new relationships always bring—Chloe’s with a tempestuous Chef and Vivien’s with the banker who happens to have it out for their business and suddenly their clash of ideas leads to a peculiar solution: they split the shop in half with a black line in the middle and each runs her business as she sees fit. Things heat up as they’re forced to fight over every customer who walks in the door. The neighborhood is changing as well, turning into an unlikely blend of young hipsters living alongside elderly people who’ve spent their lives there. But Vivien and Chloe will have to learn to overcome their differences and work together as a team in order to save the bakery as well as everything else that truly matters in their lives.”
Bakery in Brooklyn will come to VOD and the following theatres January 20: Laemmle Monica (Los Angeles), Presidio Theatre (San Francisco), Apple Cinemas (Boston), Plaza Theatre (Atlanta), Cinema Detroit (Detroit), Facets Cinematheque (Chicago), Tower City (Cleveland), AMC Oak Tree (Seattle), AMC Arizona Center (Phoenix), AMC Lexington Park (Washington, D.C.), and Carlton Cinema (Toronto).
