Catch the sneak peek of the actor belting this Cabaret-esque number.

Every supporting player needs a moment in the spotlight, and this week Dr. Akopian gets hers on the February 2 episode of The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

As Rebecca Bunch’s therapist, Dr. Akopian has been trying to help her patient to absolutely no avail. But after a voicemail from Rebecca saying that she’s really ready to do the work, there seems to be a light at the end of this shrink’s tunnel.

In the video above, actor Michael Hyatt (who has played the thwarted doctor since Season 1) takes center stage in the original song “This Session Is Going to Be Different,” which swings with a “Maybe This Time” vibe.

Written by Rene Gube, the episode, titled “Nathaniel and I Are Just Friends!,” is directed by Erin Ehrlich and also guest stars Parvesh Cheena with series regulars Scott Michael Foster, Pete Gardner, Vella Lovell, David Hull, Vincent Rodriguez III, Gabrielle Ruiz, Donna Lynn Champlin, and Rachel Bloom.

The original musical comedy series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is currently in its third season. Created and written by Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada), it won two Emmy Awards in 2016, and Bloom took home the 2016 Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical. The show has welcomed Broadway names as some of its guest stars, including Tovah Feldshuh, Patti LuPone, and Lea Salonga.
