News Faith, Heyl, Lovett and More Ring Them Belles on Theatre Row Beginning March 19 The limited engagement of Mark Dunn's Belles — billed as "a play in two acts and 45 phone calls" — begins performances March 19 at the Lion Theatre on Theatre Row.

Presented by Heiress Productions, the limited engagement, under the direction of Marisa Viola, will run through April 12.

"The Walker sisters, born and raised in Memphis, now live in six different US cities and communicate solely by phone," according to Belles press notes. "The eldest, Peggy, who remained with Mama in Tennessee, calls her siblings when their mother is hospitalized – nothing serious, she just ate some bad tuna – but the phone calls lead to often comedic and sometimes brutal confrontations about the past and the present."

The Walker sisters are played by Laura Faith as Paige, Ashton Heyl as Aneece, Rebecca Lovett as Peggy, Kristi McCarson as Roseanne, Christina Shipp as Sherry and Kelly Strandemo as Audrey.

The production features scenic design by Jonathan W. Collins, costume design by Emily DeAngelis, lighting design by Jessica Greenberg and sound design is by Chris Rummel.

Proceeds benefit Joe's House, a nonprofit organization providing "a nation-wide online service that helps cancer patients and their families find lodging near treatment centers." Show times are Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM and Mondays at 7 PM.

The Lion Theatre is located on Theatre Row at 410 West 42nd Street. Tickets, priced $21.50, are available by visiting www.ticketcentral.com or by calling (212) 279-4200.
