News Fame Becomes Me's Jenkins to Celebrate New CD at Joe's Pub Capathia Jenkins, who brings down the house nightly in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me with "Stop the Show," will perform three concerts at Joe's Pub this fall.

The Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12 evenings will celebrate the release of Jenkins' new CD with Louis Rosen, which is entitled "Capathia Jenkins and Louis Rosen: South Side Stories." Show time for all performances is 7 PM.

"South Side Stories," according to press notes, was "inspired by Rosen's experiences growing up on the south side of Chicago [and is] a moving collection of songs about youth, coming-of-age and experience." The Joe's Pub concerts, which will also feature composer-performer Jenkins, will include tunes from "South Side Stories" as well as "Twelve Songs on Poems by Maya Angelou" and "Giovanni Songs."

The singers will be accompanied by David Loud on piano and Dave Phillips on bass.

Capathia Jenkins made her Broadway debut in The Civil War and has also been seen on Broadway in The Look of Love and Caroline, or Change. Her other theatrical credits include Godspell, Ain't Misbehavin', Dreamgirls, Bubblin' Brown Sugar and Children of Eden. On screen Jenkins has been seen in "Corn," "Marci X," "The Practice," "Law & Order," "Law & Order: SVU," "Third Watch" and "The Sopranos."
