News Fame Forever to Receive Professional World Premiere at London's Lyric Theatre Prior to U.K. Tour Fame Forever, an official sequel to the stage musical Fame, will receive its professional world première in a fully staged production at the West End's Lyric Theatre that will be staged Sept. 8 for one night only, ahead of a planned U.K. tour in 2015-16.

It has been conceived and developed by David De Silva, who also conceived, developed and produced the original MGM film "Fame," which was nominated for four Oscars and won one, for Best Song. He was also consulting producer on the popular TV series, which ran for six years on network TV and in syndication, and was broadcast in 68 countries. He was also the driving force behind Fame the Musical.

The music for Fame Forever is by Steve Margoshes, composer of the original stage musical, and book and lyrics are by Ben H. Winters.

According to press materials, the show picks up the story of the characters 20 years on, as the Class of '84 have their 20th reunion celebration, two decades since they graduated from New York’s famed La Guardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts.

Serena Katz, once a promising actress, is now an English teacher at the school. Nick Piazza – her high school sweetheart – a huge (and rich) TV star. Tyrone Jackson has his own dance company, the Tyrone Jackson Dance Theatre. Mabel Washington – now a weather girl – has her daughter at the school, as does radio DJ, Joe Vegas. Even the spirit of Carmen Diaz, still 18, makes an appearance to see how life, her classmates and time have passed her by.
