News Fame to Arrive in October at Off-Bway's Little Shubert The musical Fame — based on the acclaimed film and the long-running TV series of the same name — will arrive at the Little Shubert Theatre in the fall.

A recent casting notice lists October 7 as the opening date for the musical about up-n-coming performing artists attending New York's High School for the Performing Arts. Producers are Richard Martini, Allen Spivak and Dodger Stage Holding in association with the Father Fame Foundation. The casting notice also says that Drew Scott Harris will direct the musical with Lars Bethke supplying the choreography. A London production of Fame—the Musical is currently playing the Aldwych Theatre. It is unclear how similar the New York production will be to David de Silva's West End version, which features a book by Jose Fernandez, music by Steve Margoshes and lyrics by Jacques Levy.

Fame follows Hank Williams: Lost Highway into the Little Shubert on West 42nd Street. That musical, about the life of the late musician Hank Williams, plays its final performance July 27.

The Little Shubert Theatre is located at 422 West 42nd Street. The theatre opened in November with Tommy Tune: White Tie and Tails.
