Fat Chicks Go to Hell, according to writer-performer Janie Martinez, and her view has been on view at Theatre 22 since March 6. The show opened March 8 and now ends its scheduled run March 18. Kenneth W. Marshall (Bound & Gagged) directs.

Fat Chicks is Martinez's comic and disturbing take on how a woman who does not conform to the media's idea of perfect body shape deals with the world around her, where everyone, including members of her own family, may reject her. Martinez's credits include Jest of Hahalaba, Execution of Justice, Animal Crackers and Love of the Nightingale. She first performed part of Fat Chicks Go to Hell at The Knitting Factory, which was then broadcast over the internet in the Factory's Multimedia Program.

Designing the show are Andrea J. Schmidt (sets), Melanie Lipka (lighting) and Santi Gutierrez (sound) with original music by Bidy Sullivan.

Fat Chicks Go to Hell runs through March 18. Tickets are $12. Theatre 22 is located at 54 West 22nd Street. For reservations, call (718) 437-5981.
