News Fela!'s Sahr Ngaujah Offers Free Concert in Brooklyn Oct. 4; St. Ann's Season Begins Tony Award nominee Sahr Ngaujah and the band from the Broadway production of Fela! offer a free concert to kick off the St. Ann's Warehouse season Oct. 4 on Pier 1 of Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Ngaujah, who stars as Fela Anikulapo Kuti in the Broadway musical, will perform music from Fela! and other songs by the late musician and Nigerian political figure. Fela! music director Aaron Johnson will lead the Afrobeat band for the 6:30 PM concert.

Seating on the lawn is limited and on a first come-first served basis. For directions visit BrooklynBridgePark.

Fela! opened on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Nov. 23, 2009, after an acclaimed run Off-Broadway in 2008 at 37 Arts. A London production will begin at the National Theatre Nov. 6.

The St. Ann's season will continue with the American premiere of Enda Walsh's latest play, Penelope, running Oct. 23-Nov. 14.
