News Feldshuh, Kudisch, Barrett and Others Salute 1960 Broadway June 9 The latest concert offering in the Broadway By the Year series will be performed June 9 at Town Hall.

Entitled Broadway By the Year 1960, the six-member company includes acclaimed singer-actress Tovah Feldshuh; Thoroughly Modern Millie Tony nominee Marc Kudisch; Chicago’s current Billy Flynn, Brent Barrett; as well as Eddie Korbich, Liz Larsen, Lisa Vroman and Doug Ladnier. The one-night-only event is a salute to the 1960 Broadway season, which included the debuts of Bye Bye Birdie, Camelot, Do Re Mi, Greenwillow and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Show time is 8 PM.

Producer Scott Siegel spoke to Playbill On-Line May 30 and explained that the concert is “an interesting mix of the songs people expect and want to hear as well as the ones that are somewhat lost — we’d like them to be fondly remembered.”

Siegel also said that the first concert of the season, Broadway By the Year 1925 will be repeated June 23. That Feb. 17 concert was the night of this year’s blizzard, and although 500 “brave souls” did show up, many were unable to attend. The June 23 performers will include Martin Vidnovic, Nancy Andersen, Walker Jones, Justin Bohon and a surprise special guest.

(A live recording of the Feb. 17 evening is now available from Bayview Records. Featuring Howard McGillin, Nancy Anderson, Walker Jones, Stephanie J. Block and Justin Bohon, song titles include “Old Fashioned Girl,” “Paddlin’ Madelin’ Home,” “Tea for Two,” “I’m All Alone,” “Here in My Arms,” “It All Depends on You,” “As Long As I’ve Got Mammy,” “Sweet and Low Down,” “Song of the Vagabonds,” “Some Day,” “Lackawanna,” “That Means Nothing to Me,” “Always,” “That Certain Feeling,” “Manhattan” and “I Want To Be Happy.”)

Tickets for both the June 9 and June 23 concerts — priced at $40 and $37.50 — are still available. Town Hall is located in New York City at 123 W. 43rd Street; call Ticketmaster at (212) 307-4100 or Town Hall at (212) 997-6661 for tickets.
