Felicity Kendal to Star in Hay Fever at West End's Duke of York's Theatre | Playbill

News Felicity Kendal to Star in Hay Fever at West End's Duke of York's Theatre Felicity Kendal is to star in Noel Coward's Hay Fever at the West End's Duke of York's Theatre, beginning performances April 29 prior to an official opening May 11 for a run through Aug. 1.

She will reprise the role of Judith Bliss in Lindsay Posner's production that was first seen at the Theatre Royal Bath last summer, and subsequently toured the U.K. and visited Australia.

Kendal is best known for her many TV roles, including the iconic "The Good Life." Recent West End stage appearances have included productions of Relatively Speaking, The Vortex and Mrs. Warren's Profession.

In the play, Judith is a once glittering star of the London stage and matriarch of the Bliss family. She, her egocentric novelist husband David and their two Bohemian adult children Sorel and Simon are incapable of sharing the spotlight. Unconventional, risqué, and often downright rude, they are everything a respectable English family should not be. When each member of the family invites a guest to their rural Berkshire retreat, the unassuming visitors are thrown into a living melodrama.

Further casting is still to be announced.
