News Ferrick, McKay, Faye and Starlite Are "We The People" in New Joe's Pub Series The Threepenny Opera star and pop songstress Nellie McKay will be featured in the Joe's Pub "We The People" series, which will also boast Melissa Ferrick and Tammy Faye Starlite.

The downtown haunt will present the new program in association with The Onion. "In a highly politicized and over-spun media world," reads an announcement, "Joe's Pub provides an oasis for First Amendment frivolity on the first Tuesday of every month.  Join us for a celebration of art, opinions, and politics from a diverse group of outspoken artists and performers."

The current schedule (subject to change) includes:

  • March 4 (9:30 & 11:30 PM) - Melissa Ferrick
  • April 1 (9:30 & 11:30 PM) - Nellie McKay
  • May 6 (9:30 PM) - Tammy Faye Starlite - "Where Is America Going?" Additional names and dates will be announced.

    McKay recently performed (and penned a separate musical) at Joe's Pub as part of the inaugural The 24 Hour Musicals. Tickets for the "We The People" series at Joe's Pub (located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street), are available by calling (212) 967-7555 or by visiting joespub.com.

    Tables can be reserved by calling (212) 539-8778. Seating (and standing room) is on a first-come, first-served basis for all shows without a dinner reservation (Two drinks or $12 food minimum per person is standard.)
