News Fiddler on the Roof Tour Commences Oct. 21 in Alaska A new North American tour of Fiddler on the Roof, featuring John Preece as Tevye the milkman, launches Oct. 21-27 at Atwood Concert Hall in Anchorage, AK. Engagements in American and Canadian cities have been announced through May 2012.

The Broadway classic draws on the stories of Sholom Aleichem. The libretto is by Joseph Stein, the music is by Jerry Bock and the lyrics are by Sheldon Harnick. The show's songs include "Sunrise, Sunset," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Miracle of Miracles," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "Far From the Home I Love" and "Tradition."

Preece has performed in Fiddler on the Roof over 3,400 times, more than 1,700 of which were in the role of Tevye the milkman. This production marks his 10th national tour. His other productions include 1776, Damn Yankees and The Man of La Mancha at the Candlelight Theatre in Wilmington, DE.
