News Fierstein, Banderas, Rivera, Mitchell Set for May “Theater Talk” "Theater Talk," the New York City PBS talk show that offers interviews with top theatre celebrities and writers, has announced its star-studded May line up.

The May 2 telecast will feature an interview with award-winning actress Elizabeth Ashley, who is currently starring in Mathew Barber’s Enchanted April at the Belasco Theatre. On May 9, Harvey Fierstein, likely to be Tony-nominated for his performance in Hairspray, will sit down for a chat about his role in the season’s biggest hit. A Day in the Death of Joe Egg co-stars — Eddie Izzard and Victoria Hamilton — will guest on the May 16 broadcast, and that program will also feature a conversation with The New York Times’ Robin Pogrebin and Playbill On-Line’s Robert Simonson. The end of the month (May 23) will feature a trio of Man of La Mancha folk — composer Mitch Leigh and actors Brian Stokes Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio — discussing the revival now playing the Martin Beck Theatre. On May 30, Nine stars Antonio Banderas and Chita Rivera will discuss their work in another revival, Maury Yeston’s Tony-winning musical.

Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins, "Theatre Talk" airs late Friday nights at midnight on WNET/Thirteen. Check local listings for air times in Boston, Hartford and Washington, D.C.
