News Final "Broadway in Bryant Park" Canceled Due to Rain Aug. 10 New York's 106.7 FM has canceled what would have been the final performance of the 2007 "Broadway in Bryant Park" series Aug. 10 "due to inclement weather."

The special Friday performance was to close the season. It will not be rescheduled.

The summer series at the midtown park featured stars of current and upcoming musicals — on Broadway and Off-Broadway — performing show tunes. The series, which began July 12 and continued every Thursday, played from 12:30 PM to approximately 1:45 PM.

The performers who were lined up for the Aug. 10 performance included Altar Boyz's Jim Daly, Ryan J. Ratliff, Landon Beard, Jay Garcia and Ryan Strand; Chicago's Michelle Robinson, Eric Jordan Young, Donna Marie Asbury, Melissa Rae Mahon and more as well as Legally Blonde's Laura Bell Bundy, Richard H. Blake and Christian Borle.

The sixth annual summertime series lined up as follows:

  • July 12: Mamma Mia!, Beauty and the Beast, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, In the Heights
  • July 19: Avenue Q, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent
  • July 26: Xanadu, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Lion King, Curtains, Stomp
  • Aug. 2: Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, Hairspray
  • Aug. 9: The Fantasticks, The Color Purple, Spring Awakening, Wicked Bryant Park is located just behind the New York Public Library on Sixth Avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets.
