News Finalist Eliminated on "American Idol"; Carrie Underwood and Coldplay Will Perform on Results Show Following the nationwide vote, finalist Elise Testone was eliminated on the April 26 broadcast of the famed singing competition "American Idol."

On May 2 at 8 PM the remaining five finalists – Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez – will return to the "Idol" stage for a British music-themed performance show.

The results show will air May 3 at 8 PM ET on Fox. The program will feature performances by Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum artist and former "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood and the world-famous alternative rock band Coldplay.

Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
