News Finalists Announced for "I'm a Star" Contest; Winner Will Be Revealed April 1 Finalists have been announced for composer-lyricist Scott Alan and Youtube sensation Michael Buckley's "I'm a Star Contest," which is looking for a singer to record a brand-new song by theatre composer Alan for his upcoming "Live" CD.

The winner of the contest will also have the opportunity to perform the song, which will be written especially for him or her, at Alan's upcoming New York City concert (April 30 at Birdland). The winner will be introduced by Buckley.

The 14 finalists, chosen by Jenna Leigh Green, Michael Buckley, Ellyn Marsh and Scott Alan from 540 submissions, include Jack Beatson, Camille Trzcinski, Matt Duck, Laura Ashley Greer, Philly Lopez, Paul Ianniella, Mindy Pack, Nick Pitera, Honey Riber, Alexander Sage Oyen, Sidonie Smith, Cherry Torres, Heather Traska and Stefani Wood.

The winner will be chosen by Jonathan Groff, Cheyenne Jackson, Tracie Thoms and Beth Behrs. Playbill.com will announce their selection April 1.

Scott Alan's newest recording, "What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up," is now available on CDbaby.com, Amazon.com and iTunes. "What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up" follows Alan's earlier studio recordings, "Dreaming Wide Awake" and "Keys." His new musical Home is aiming for Broadway in 2012.
