Discontent, which replaces the previously announced Meet Mister Future, will be presented at the Berkshire Athenaeum July 26-Aug. 6. The revue features music by Deborah Abramson with lyrics by Abramson, Finn, Peter Mills, Nathan Tysen and Amanda Yesnowitz. J. Oconer Navarro will be the show's musical director.
The cast for Travels With My Discontent: A New Musical Revue comprises Light in the Piazza's Katie Clarke, Pajama Game's Megan Lawrence, Into the Woods' Chip Zien and The Burnt Part Boys' Charlie Brady.
In a statement, composer-director Finn, who is the artistic producer of the Musical Theatre Lab series, said, "Travels is a smart, hilarious — and underneath it all — serious musical revue celebrating the extraordinarily talented Deborah Abramson." Abramson's other composing credits include Songs of Innocence and Experience (with Finn), Marco Polo (with Peter Mills) and Seasick (with Judson Pearce Morgan).
The Barrington's Lab series is currently presenting The Burnt Part Boys, which has been extended through July 15. Jack Cummings III will direct the summer's final offering, Disorder: A Mother/Daughter Vaudeville, which is set to run Aug. 17-27.
The Berkshire Athenaeum is located at 1 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield, MA. For tickets, priced $25 and $30, call (413) 236-8888 or visit www.barringtonstageco.org.
