The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, also a well-known film, tells the story of an eccentric Scottish teacher who is both a positive and negative influence upon her students.

Shaw has recently appeared in the RNT production of T.S.Eliot's The Waste Land, directed by Deborah Warner, which played at Wilton's Music Hall in December and January. She's also well known for her previous work in the RNT's Richard II in which she played the monarch.

No other casting decisions have yet been announced. The production is also likely to go on national tour.
